I love to eat and try everything that I see.
Here in Taiwan I have eaten from stinky tofu (I didn’t like it) to
the delicious dumplings, moon cakes and one of my favorites: ham
barbecue omelet on rice in the restaurant of the corner of NCCU, the
famous 45!
With my friends we eat all the time dumplings!
They are good, cheap and fast to eat. I specially love to eat the
vegetarian dumplings! They are green and round. After taking them with
the wooden chopsticks, you eat them with a sweet soy sauce! They are so
good! There are also pork spicy dumplings! They are really spicy, but
with the sweet sauce they taste wonderfully.
My favorite deserts are moon cakes! Unfortunately there are only
moon cakes during the moon festival! Many of them are super good, but
not all of them. There are some that have sweet beans and egg inside. I
didn’t like those, but there are others that have like a purple or black
or green cover with cheese inside! Wow! I love them! They are not that
cheap, like NT 30.00 each (they are small), but they are worth it.
Although dumplings and moon cakes are delicious, ham barbecue
omelet on rice overpasses them! I have only tried that dish in the
restaurant 45! I don’t know if it is a real traditional Taiwanese dish,
because I have not seen that dish on the menu of other restaurants. But
if you come one day to the NCCU, I would advice you to ask for that
restaurant. I love that dish!
So my advice to you is that you try everything what you can here in
Taiwan. Sometimes you will hate the taste, but most of the times you
will love it. So, take the risk and enjoy!
